Learning Common Spanish Phrases From Four Reliable Sources
Spanish is among the many major languages spoken today worldwide and learning some of these common Spanish phrases could be handy at any given time. You may find yourself on a vacation in a place where Spanish is the local language. Instead of looking dumb and not saying a single word, you can utter these simple Spanish phrases to the people you meet.
One of the sources where you can learn basic Spanish is through travel books. Of course, the travel book must be about a destination where Spanish is spoken. Although the book may be more about travel stuff, a little section about basic phrases in Spanish is usually included. You can visit bookstores, check out the travel books available, and see which books have that section about basic Spanish just to be on the safe side. You do not want to purchase something that does not contain what you are looking for.
Another source where you can learn simple Spanish phrases is through TV. Watching a Spanish show with English subtitles regularly can help you pick which phrases are commonly used and what these phrases translate in English. This may be the best source since you are exposed to the Spanish language regularly, and since it comes from TV, internalizing it can be easier than going through self-study or attending classes. Another advantage is that you get to learn how the phrases are properly said by just listening to what the characters in the TV show are saying.
If you do not have Spanish TV shows available in your area, or if your cable provider does not offer any Spanish channels, online TV can always be your backup source. It is always available and accessible online. All you will need is a good computer hooked to the web, and you are good to go.
Other than online TV Spanish shows, you can also search for online tutorials. There are a lot of free tutorials available online. You can bookmark sites so that it will be easier to access the next time you want to continue your study of common phrases. You might want to keep a pen and paper ready so that you can take notes or write a few phrases you want to memorize while you are away from your computer. Be sure to listen to voice simulations so that you can speak these phrases correctly. Properly speaking these common Spanish phrases is also another way of showing respect to the language.
